Ventnor beach free after city runs out of badge-patrol funds

While beach-goers took advantage of a mostly rain-free summer in Ventnor, the city took a hit to its beach badge-patrol fund.

With badge checkers working every day since mid-June, Ventnor has run out of its $15,000 funds to pay the staff. Meaning, the beach is now free.

The Press of Atlantic City reports badge-checkers left the beach for the Atlantic City Air Show two weekends ago and haven’t been back since.  The lack of patrols won’t matter much to those with seasonal badges, but anyone looking for a day trip is in luck.
