University of Delaware offers reward for missing former prof.

Retired UD professor John Dohms has been missing since last month.  Now, the University is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

Dohm, who suffers from dementia, was last seen walking on Creek Road into White Clay Creek State Park around 3 p.m. on September 13.  He was known to frequent walk the trails in and around the park, in addition to the Pomeroy Trail and other state parkland off Paper Mill Road.

He was wearing a bright green button-down shirt and khaki shorts, and he may have been carrying a pair of binoculars.  According to a Facebook page set up by the family, Dohm was in excellent physical health and knew how to survive in the wilderness.  They believe he is still in the Newark area or even in Pennsylvania.

Police say anyone who may have seen Dohm or know anything about his location should call 911 immediately.  They’re also asking residents of northern Newark, Hockessin and even southern Chester County, Pa. to check their sheds, outbuildings, cars, under decks or other places of shelter.
