SEPTA has begun talks with AEMCO in an effort to settles a lawsuit surrounding the recronstruction of the Market-Frankford El. The authority filed suit last year against the architectural and engineering contractor seeking $43 million to cover settlements with other contractors.

As NewsWorks partner PlanPhilly reports, the suit alleges AEMCO failed to provide SEPTA with information in a timely manner, and  also included design flaws in the reconstrucion plan that SEPTA said could endanger passengers.

The suit stems from the reconstruction of 22,000 feet of track on the elevated line and the reconstruction of six stations.
