Tonight marks first night of Kwanzaa

Tonight marks the first night of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration honoring the African-American culture and heritage.

In Philadelphia, there are several ways to celebrate the holiday.

At the Johnson House Historic Site, organizers are holding a storytelling and drumming session on Tuesday to celebrate the principles of Kwanzaa. The Johnson House Historic Site, which sits on the 6300 block of Germantown Avenue, was a documented stop on the Underground Railroad.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and includes storytelling, drumming and arts and crafts.
