Teen suspects sought in robbery of wheelchair-bound child

New Castle County Police are looking for two suspects in connection to the robbery of a 12-year-old confined to a wheelchair.

On Monday afternoon, police were called to the unit block of Buchanan Circle in the Christiana Green subdivision for the report of a robbery.

Officers arrived and learned the victim was exercising outside in his wheelchair when two boys ran up behind him. The suspects, described by police as being approximately 12 to 14-years-of age, pushed the victim’s wheelchair from behind, causing it to get stuck in a storm grate.

The two suspects then assaulted the victim, whose name was not released by police, and fled on foot with a lanyard and key.
