Two area utility companies have agreed to buy property from each other. Bryn Mawr’s Aqua America Inc. and American Water Works Co. of Vorhees will purchase operations from each other in Texas and Missouri, respectively.
According to a business report from the Philadelphia Inquirer, Aqua America will purchase a $6 million water and waste-water operation in texas from American Water Works, and the Water Works will spend $3 million on a similar operation from Aqua America in Missouri.
The swap needs state regulatory approvals, but it meant to make operations for both companies more efficient.
