Sweeney still spending with his primary campaign fund

In January, N.J. Senate President Stephen Sweeney had $87,537 in his re-election campaign fund for his Gloucester County freeholder position. Sweeney decided not to run, but he’s still spending the funds; he’s down to $4,787.

The Inquirer‘s Trenton bureau took a hard look at Sweeney’s spending, which includes $16,000 for polling and $14,830 for watches. Sweeney says the account will be closed by the end of the year and that he’ll donate the remaining funds.
