State Police investigate outbreak of thefts from unlocked vehicles

Southern Delaware residents are being advised to lock up their vehicles after more than a dozen thefts were reported in eastern Sussex County in recent weeks.

The suspect or suspects managed to get away with cash, audio systems and other goods.  In all of the cases the vehicles were left unlocked, and most of the vehicles were left parked in the owners’ driveways.  Troopers advise Delawareans to lock all car doors, roll up the windows, take any valuables inside, leave outdoor lights on and to report any suspicious activity.  Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call State Police at 302-644-5020 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333.
