Southern Delaware soup kitchen seeks to open as a church

The Sussex County Planning and Zoning today will consider a proposal from a well-known soup kitchen to become a church.

The Jusst Sooup Ranch on Cool Spring Road was rebuilt last summer for an episode of ABC’s Extreme Makeover:  Home Edition.  Rev. Dale Dunning and Ken Dunning now reportedly have plans to convert the facility into a church.  The county board of adjustment recently denied a special-use exeption to allow the ministry to serve food.  As a result, Rev. Dunning is making soup at the Jusst Sooup Ranch, then delivers it to other locations that serve the needy population.  The Planning and Zoning Board meets tonight at 6:00 p.m.at County Council Chambers in Georgetown to consider Jusst Sooup’s preliminary site plan.
