Small plane crashes into Pa. creek; pilot alive

A pilot is alive after crashing a small single-engine plane into an eastern Pennsylvania creek.

Police and fire officials said the investigation into the Friday morning crash into Allentown’s Little Lehigh Creek is ongoing and its cause wasn’t immediately clear.

Police Capt. Tony Alsleben tells The Morning Call of Allentown that the pilot was conscious and taken to a hospital. The pilot was the only person in the plane.

Fire Capt. John Christopher tells WFMZ-TV that the crash occurred in 6 to 8 feet of water. WFMZ-TV says the aircraft is registered to Thomas Siminski of Upper Milford Township. Federal Aviation Administration records list it as an “amateur built” experimental plane.
