Bike Coalition Bike Safety/Bike Lane ride

Wednesday, September 19, 5:15pm. Meet at Fitler Square Park, 23rd and Pine Streets. This month the Bicycle Coalition’s ride will be a family-friendly and novice cyclist affair. Staffer Megan Rosenbach, the Coalition’s Curriculum and Training Specialist, will lead a bike safety ride along the Pine and Spruce bike lanes. Helmets are required, and cyclists need to sign a waiver. Rules of the road will be discussed and followed. Register online. Free.

Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll

Thursday, September 20, 5:30-8:30pm. Baltimore Avenue, between 42nd and 50th streets. It’s the final 2012 dollar stroll on Baltimore Ave, so head out for $1 treats from more than 25 food establishments and shops. Pay as you go.

Open Air – Opening Night Celebration

Thursday, September 20, 7:30-11pm. Benjamin Franklin Parkway inner drive. Come out to celebrate the opening of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Open Air, a temporary, interactive light installation along the Parkway. The official lighting will occur at 8:30pm, and the celebration will include local food truck favorites (Little Baby’s, Lucky Old Souls, and Foo Truck) and special guests like Rahzel. If it rains the event will be cancelled. Free.
