SEPTA has identified a significant structural defect with its Silverliner V Regional Rail cars.

All 120 Silverliner V cars are currently out-of-service for inspection, SEPTA announced Saturday. The cars make up about one-third of its Regional Rail fleet and contingency service plans for this upcoming weekday travel are currently being developed.

Over the years, roll-out and production of the Silverliner V cars had been riddled with issues. Manufacturer Hyundai-Rotem was so far behind schedule that they racked up millions of dollars in fines. And they’d been criticized for lacking Wi-Fi.

More to come on this as SEPTA has an announcement planned for later today.
