Seaside Heights boardwalk construction draws visitors

The reconstruction of the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, N.J. is quickly becoming a symbol for the Jersey Shore’s comeback. It was here where the iconic image was taken of the Jetstar Roller Coaster sitting in the ocean after Superstorm Sandy hit Oct 29, 2012.

This past weekend a steady stream of onlookers crowded around the few spots where you can see the rows of piles in place of where the boardwalk once was. While the boardwalk may be in place for Memorial Day Weekend what isn’t clear is how many of the ocean-front businesses will be ready.

But Seaside Heights wants everyone to see that progress is being made. The town has installed a live streaming webcam that you can see on the Earthcam website.
