Salem County needs to cut addition $2.4 million after budget error

    Whoops.

After discovering an error in the budget line item for utilities, Salem County, N.J., will have to cut an addition $2.4 million from its budget.
Chief Financial Officer Douglas Wright told Today’s Sunbeam the oversight was a genuine mistake that he brought to freeholders’ attention as soon as he found it. Now an auditor will review all the numbers to make sure everything else is in order.

The county now needs to determine where to make the cuts.
