Rainstorm looms for Sunday

Tranquil weather will dominate the Jersey Shore until Sunday, when a low pressure system will track along the coast, forecasters say.
The current forecast calls for the storm develop off the Virginia coast and impact the area beginning Sunday afternoon, with the heaviest rain between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to Phillywx.com.
“Rain looms for us, with some areas likely to pick up over an inch of rain from this storm system,” a Phillywx.com Facebook posting states. “There’s uncertainty on where that heavier swath of rain falls. [It] could occur just west of I-95 to along the shore depending on exact track of the developing low.”
Shore dwellers should also expect gusty winds “probably up to if not over 30 to 35 miles per hour at the peak,” according to Phillywx.com.
Conditions improve for Monday, with NOAA forecasting breezy conditions under partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 30s at the shore.
