PSEG Nuclear wins community relations award

PSEG’s energy education center has earned the nuclear company an award for its role in community outreach. The Nuclear Energy Institute has given the company the Top Industry Practice award.

The award, as Today’s Sunbeam reports, recognizes the Energy & Environmental Resource Center in Salem, which is designed to “promote conversations about energy, the environment and the role that nuclear plays in meeting the challenges of climate change.”

The facility has launched outreach campaigns to promote the safety of the Salem and Hope Creek generating stations, and offers programs on topics like electricity generation, climate change, nuclear power and local ecology.
