Prep work ready for beach nesting season

Final prep work is underway at the Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, which is scheduled to close Friday through September.  The stretch of beach and dunes along with a half mile along the bay shoreline will close to allow piping plovers, oyster catchers, least terns and other birds to nest in peace.  The ocean side is scheduled to reopen September 1, while the bay side beach is scheduled to reopen October 1.
