UPDATED: Attack in Pennypack Park

Police are investigating an attack in Pennypack Park yesterday afternoon.

An unidentified woman says she was approached near the 8500- block of Algon Avenue near Krewstown Road by a man who said he was a police officer. She told authorities the man asked her to follow him, then attempted to attack her. The woman then flagged down a real police officer near Bustleton Avenue.

Officers are still investigating the situation, and details of the attack are still unclear.

UPDATED– The attacker is described as a white male in his early 30s, about 5’1’1′ and 200lbs. He told the woman, who was walking with her baby at the time, that he was a plain clothes officer and needed help finding a lost dog.
