Port Penn man arrested for rape of 8-year-old girl

Delaware State Police arrested a 23-year-old Port Penn man for raping his girlfriend’s 8-year-old daughter.

Detectives say videos of the little girl performing sexual acts on Joshua Jones were discovered Wednesday, by the victim’s 28-year-old mother.  According to police, the two videos were on the household computer.  When the mother confronted Jones, police say, he fled the residence in the 100 block of S. Congress Street.

On Thursday, Troopers were called to the area of Route 13 at Drawyer’s Creek, north of Odessa, for a report of a suspicious person, according to police. Turns out that person was Joshua Jones, who was arrested and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute on $55,000 secured bond.

Jones faces rape and unlawful sexual conduct charges.
