    Philadelphia: the City of Delinquency.

    Property taxes? Check.

    City employee taxes? Check.

Seems the city has a bit of trouble staying on top of taxes, as well as its plan to penalize those who are delinquent.

This week on It’s Our Money, Holly Otterbein looks at why Fire Commission Lloyd Ayers was able to slip through the tax crack: he became delinquent in 2010. The city stopped (and started) withholding employees’ pay for tax delinquencies in 2009.

Any plans to start that up again? Nutter’s spokesman says this is one of many projects. City Controller Alan Butkovitz’s spokesman says he office will revisit the idea.
