Philly medical examiner probing remains found under tarp

The medical examiner’s office is trying to identify human remains that police found under a tarp in North Philadelphia.

The remains may have been there for more than a year and are incomplete.

Police say they also found a small woman’s shoe, a skirt and a cellphone, but they’re still looking for a skull and other parts of the skeleton.

Authorities still don’t know the sex, age, race or cause of death of the apparent victim.
