Philadelphia school administrators delay vote on contract
Principals and other public school administrators in Philadelphia say the need more time and information before they can vote on a tentative contract reached with the district last week.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports members of Teamsters Local 502 of the Commonwealth Association of School Administrators delayed voting on a proposed four-year contract Wednesday night.
A new meeting date hasn’t been scheduled.
The group’s president, Robert McGrogan, says members want more details about the proposed salary schedules.
The contract calls for a 3 percent bonus and some salary increases with no increases to health care costs.
The district says it respects the ratification process and will provide any information the group needs.
The existing contract expires on Aug. 31. The proposed contract would run through August 2020.
