Philadelphia behind other major cities in job creation

Numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show Philadelphia is behind other major American cities in job creation. While Philadelphia added about 10,000 jobs between January 2010 and January 2011, other cities showed games of up to six times as much.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports Philadelphia lags behind Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Chicago, Washington and New York City. We did; however, beat out Sacramento, Atlanta and Las Vegas, which reported losses of up to 14,000 jobs.

Philadelphia’s number includes Camden and Wilmington. Our region ranked 238 out of 372 for its small percentage increase.
