Pa. high court justices ‘disturbed’ by reports of Eakin emails

Pennsylvania Supreme Court jurists are “disturbed” by published accounts about the explicit content of emails linked to Justice Michael Eakin.

The high court released a news release Monday that said it’s retained an independent lawyer to look into the matter and issue a report.

A message left at Eakin’s chambers in Mechanicsburg wasn’t immediately returned Monday.

The Philadelphia Daily News has published two stories in the past 10 days about emails it says appear to have been sent to and from Eakin’s private Yahoo.com email account.

The Judicial Conduct Board said Friday it’s opened another investigation into Eakin’s role in the exchange of allegedly explicit or otherwise inappropriate emails. It says it didn’t have “all of the information” when it cleared Eakin last year.
