Open house with favela painters Haas & Hahn on 12/1

Dutch artists, Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn, have set up studio in Philadelphia to create community-driven public artworks for the next year. And they’re inviting Philly to an open house tomorrow night to learn more about their work in our city.

Haas & Hahn are known for their dramatic paintings in Rio’s favelas. (Check out the video above.) The Mural Arts Program brought the duo to Philly as artists in residence at the Village of Arts & Humanitites. Here they’ll create large-scale public art projects in Germantown, Manayunk, and Center City.

Meet the artists at an open house tomorrow, December 1, from 4-7pm at The Window Factory (9th and Dauphin, 2nd Floor). To RSVP, email favela@muralarts.org.
