The Philly Mart, an open-air market that held its grand opening on Venice Island last year, will return to Manayunk beginning in April.

Vendors will travel from throughout the region after applying and being hand-selected from a group of applicants. The 30-plus vendors will feature “original art, photography, housewares, collectibles, jewelry, up-cycled wood, glassware, ceramics, art prints and furniture with an emphasis on handmade,” according to a release.

Food trucks from throughout the city and food carts representing Manayunk restaurants will also be on hand.

The market chose to return to Venice Island to “give shoppers a fun alternative to the, typical retail experience, or the boring flea market parking lot by combining a visit to Manayunk, the natural and historical resources of Venice Island, with Manayunk Canal and Fairmount Park’s Towpath,” according to organizers Renee Pedro and Kiersten Watson Lenat.
