One of the wettest years on record in Chester County

From January 1 to November 30, the nearly 54 inches of precipitation has put this year in the history books for Chester County.

The Daily Local News reports the area saw 53.5 inches of precipitation, enough to put this year in fourth place on the list of wettest periods in 30 years.

The Daily Local News says this year fell short of a historic 2003, where 59 inches of precipitation was recorded.

The precipitation totals were announced this week by the Chester county Water Resources Authority. Officials tell the Daily Local News much of the precipitation didn’t come unit the last four months after a dry start to the year.
