On ‘Radio Times’: Similarities between Trump and Nixon

Many journalists and former government officials have drawn comparisons between the Nixon and Trump administrations’ way of dealing with criminal allegations. Among them is John Dean, who served as White House counsel to President Nixon — and then served time for his role in the Watergate cover–up.

Dean joined Marty Moss-Coane on “Radio Times” Wednesday morning to discuss some of those similarities, including what he calls their authoritarian impulses.

Asked him about the similarities of President Trump’s tweets and what was revealed in the Nixon tapes:

Earlier in the show, Moss-Coane talked with former CIA officer Robert Baer about the national security risks of Russia’s election interference. This is “much worse than the Cold War because no American president has ever been tied so closely to a hostile intelligence service in the history of this country,” Baer said.
