Officials: Man dies after clothes get stuck in machinery

Officials say a 57-year-old worker at a machine shop has died after his clothes got stuck in a piece of equipment.

A spokeswoman for the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration said that the man got stuck Friday in a lathe at Advance Machine Inc. in Linden.

Linden police Capt. David Hart says the unidentified Newark man suffered head and arm injuries in the accident around 12:15 p.m.

The man’s death is under investigation.
