Nutter: My wannabe successors need to ‘get it on’
On Thursday, the old Twitter ticker tape was chock full of vignettes from Mayor Michael Nutter’s final Chamber of Commerce annual-luncheon speech.
You remember Nutter, right? The guy who still goes to work on the second floor of City Hall. Well, just in case you’re too transfixed by the jockeying of mayoral candidates, Nutter took the stage to this track and started talking about how he’s run this town.
Citified has more, including this passage:
The next mayor will need to capitalize on the good government practices that the leaders before him left, as well as the challenges. That takes knowledge.
This job takes heart. It takes compassion and empathy. And, it takes skill.
So, does he think any of the six (already or soon-to-be) declared candidates possess those aforementioned skillz? Well if he does, he didn’t let on to it in this quote that the Inky reported:
“I’m just going to let it play out. We’ll see what happens as we get closer to election day. But they need to get it on.”
