After the Storm: Recognizing the signs of a hazardous tree

Tuesday, November 13, 6-8pm. Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, 100 N. 20th St. Join arborist Steve Goin, of Bartlett Tree Experts, to learn how to recognize early signs of a dangerous tree and what to do about storm damaged trees. Planting at Nelson Orchard

Wednesday, November 14, 3:30pm. Nelson Playground, North 3rd St & West Cumberland Street. Help staff and students of Welsh Elementary School plant a new orchard at the Nelson Playground Rec Center. The project is a partnership between the Philadelphia Orchard Project, The Food Trust, Welsh Elementary, and Parks & Rec. RSVP here.

Wednesday, November 14, 6-8pm. Penn Design, Meyerson Hall, 210 S. 34th Street, Upper Gallery. Architect and Assistant Professor at PennDesign, Franca Trubiano, will celebrate the release of her newest book, Design and Construction of High-Performance Homes: Building Envelopes, Renewable Energies, and Integrated Practice, with faculty members Bill Braham, Yun Yi, and Daniel Barber.
