N.J. man faces numerous charges after hit-and-run, police chase

    An accused hit-and-run driver faces numerous charges after he allegedly crashed into several vehicles, including two police cruisers, during a lengthy pursuit through Atlantic City.

    The Press of Atlantic City reports the chase started around 4 a.m. Saturday, when an officer witnessed an accident involving a pickup truck driven by 27-year-old city resident Nepthali Ramirez. Several officers were involved in the subsequent pursuit, including one who suffered minor injuries during one of the crashes.

    Ramirez was being treated at a hospital for minor injuries, and his bail was set at $30,000. It was not known if he had retained a lawyer.

    Ramirez faces several charges, including two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, as well as numerous motor vehicle citations.
