It’s any one credit card owner’s worst nightmare. Newark Police say a stolen credit card has been used around town for more than $1,000 in purchases.

Investigators have released surveillance photos of the man they believe is using a stolen credit card between Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. The stolen card has been used nearly 20 times to purchase items worth more than $1,400.

Police say in one incident the suspect bought sneakers for two women at the Delaware Running Company on E. Main Street. He was also spotted making a purchase accompanied by another man at Wawa at Rt. 4 and Rt. 72.

He may be driving a tan or gold four door sedan.
