New Castle County Chief Administrative Officer Kathy Jennings has resigned her post and plans to run for attorney general.

Jennings said Monday would be her last day working in county government. She said she expects to formally announce her campaign in the coming weeks.

Jennings had a two-decade career in the Delaware Department of Justice before joining New Castle County government a year ago.

Timothy Mullaney, a former Department of Justice and county government official, and Wilmington attorney Thomas Neuberger have also announced they will seek the office.
