N.J. governor again denies presidential ambitions

Burlington County’s online effort to get Chris Christie to run in 2012 is “flattering,” says the governor, but “a monumental waste of time.”

A Burlington County man has set up a website to draft New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to run for president in 2012. Donald Sico, a Republican who is a former staff member at the state Legislature, says hundreds of Christie supporters are showing an interest in the site.

But the governor says no dice.

“I’m not running for president. I’m not running for vice president. I have no interest in either office. I have said it dozens of times,” said Christie. “It’s very flattering that somebody down there had a little extra time to go in the Internet and throw up this website. But no interest. A monumental waste of time.”
