More meningitis reports in Cumberland County

More reports of probable meningitis cases were reported in Cumberland County, N.J., last week, bringing the county total for the year to 24.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, six cases were reported over a 10-day period that ended Friday.

Reports from across the country started earlier this fall and have been linked to tainted steroid injections from a compounding pharmacy in New England. That pharmacy was vistied by the FDA in October, and last week the FDA made a move to give the agency more authority over these pharmacies.
