MLK High football rolls to fourth consecutive win with rout of W. Philly [gallery]
After watching his team finish off its biggest victory of the season, a 50-8 rout over West Philly High, MLK Cougars Head Football Coach Ed Dunn acknowledged steady improvement that led to its current four-game winning streak.
Friday night’s win makes the team’s slow start a distant memory.
“We’re getting better each week, slowly but surely,” Dunn told NewsWorks. “We still got things we need to improve on, but the trajectory is right.
“After starting 0-2, we’re starting to slowly get things together. I’m proud of the guys but your job’s never done until you get that [Public League] championship. We’re a step closer.”
Dunn also shouted out a stellar defense and the fact that “our stars played like stars today.”
Next up for the 4-2 Cougars is the 1-4 team from Boys’ Latin Charter.
