MLK events in Wilmington

The city of Wilmington and the DuPont company are teaming up for a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King and volunteerism on Monday.

Those who want to honor the day by volunteering should log on to http://www.1-800-volunteer.org/1800Vol/volunteerdelaware/vcindex.do where they can be a part of the activites that center around the Neumors building.  A health fair will take place in Theater N around 11am.  There will be a lunch followed by a ceremony featuring First Lady Carla Markell at 1:30.  The city is offering $3.00 parking at the garage at 11th and Orange Streets.  Make sure you bring your parking stub.

There will also be a march at 1pm starting at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church at 4th and Jackson Streets.  It’s billed as “A March for Non Violence and Racial Harmony”.  Contact Father Michael Tyson at St. Paul’s at 302-655-6596 for more information.
