Missing mother, child slain; boyfriend charged in South Jersey

Authorities have charged a southern New Jersey man in the slaying of his missing girlfriend and her 3-month-old daughter.

Vineland Police Capt. Rudy Beu says 34-year-old Ricardo Santiago of Millville was arrested Tuesday after he voluntarily appeared for questioning about the disappearance of his girlfriend, 34-year-old Neidy Ramirez, and her daughter, Genesis.

Their bodies were being recovered on Wednesday and Beu would only say they were found in western Cumberland County.

Beu would not say how they died, pending the results of autopsies later in the day.

Santiago is held in the county jail on $1 million bail. It’s not known if he has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.

Ramirez and her daughter were last seen Friday in the Vineland area.
