Millville mayor: bag of weapons had firearm, knife, ammo

As police continue to investigate how a backpack full of weapons ended up behind Millville Senior High School, Mayor Tim Shannon has talked more about the bag’s contents.

Found Monday afternoon near the school’s athletic fields, the bag contained a sawed-off shotgun, knife and some ammunition, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

Track team members found the bag and took it to school officials around 3:30 p.m. Monday. The probe continues but there are no leads.
