Man running length of New Jersey for Sandy benefit reaches half way point

Later this week, I’ll have an updated list of where you can go to donate time or money or funds to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

But until then, here’s one man’s question you can follow along online.

Ed Kloskowski of Allentown, Pa. is near the end of his journey to run the length of New Jersey. Through Run4NJ, Kloskowksi will run 220 miles, raising money for Sandy relief efforts along the way.

Kloskowski, a native of Sayerville, started in Highpoint State Park in Northwest N.J. and will end in Cape May. He had hoped to wrap up today, but according to a video update from the project’s Facebook page, he’ll more likely end tomorrow night. This morning at 9 a.m. Kloskowski reported that he had reached Bayville, N.J.

If you have some time, look through the videos he’s posted along the way. Not only is it a way to follow his journey, but to see how various spots in N.J. are doing in their recovery efforts.

Running a marathon is hard, but running 50 to 60 miles a day for four days to raise money for a place you love? Brutal. Cape May friends, how about showing him some of your famous hospitality when he crosses the bridge tomorrow night?
