Lower Merion schools consider new homework policy

Lower Merion School District’s homework policy hasn’t changed since 1988. While that doesn’t mean teachers haven’t adjusted to the times, parents and school officials think it may be time for some revisions.

A new, preliminary policy could be ready in just a few months, the Main Line Times reports. Three main criteria will be evaluated:

    amount and type of homework
    teachers’ understanding of modern homework
a system to monitor teachers’ adherence to policies

The district may develop a committee to assist with the process.
