LoMo neighbors compete in holiday lights and display contest

From 8th to Broad, Snyder to Oregon houses are draped in colorful lights and windows filled with holiday displays – some even feature music and robotic figures. And while festive decorations don virtually every block in this corner of South Philly, 24 households are officially vying for top honors in the 4th annual Lower Moyamensing Civic Association‘s Holiday Decorating Contest.

You can check out photos of each house in the contest and vote for your favorite online from now until noon on Saturday. LoMo Civic has also made a handy map for those interested in cruising the neighborhood in person. This year’s winners will be announced on Sunday at the neighborhood’s holiday party.
