Lavallette house destroyed by New Year’s Day fire

    A two-alarm fire destroyed a Lavallette house Wednesday morning.

    Lavallette firefighters were dispatched to 131 Elizabeth Avenue shortly before 8 a.m., arriving to a single-story structure “fully involved in flames,” authorities said in a release. Additional firefighters subsequently responded.

    The fire was brought under control around 8:40 a.m., authorities said. 

    The Lavallette Ladies Auxiliary is accepting donations for the family impacted by the fire. Gift cards or monetary donations can be sent to Audry Zylinski c/o Lavallette Ladies Auxiliary at 102 New Brunswick Ave in Lavallette, NJ 08735. Checks should be made out to Jean Lane.
