Lackawanna County bans bath salts
It’s happening. Officials in Lackawanna County, Pa., have issues a permanent injuction against the sale of bath salts. The move comes just a few weeks after Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania called for a ban.
An ordinance was approved yesterday, the Associated Press reports, to ban the distribution, manufacture or possession of the synthetic drug. Senators in New York and New Jersey have also taken steps to ban the salts and their ingredients.
Violators in Lackawanna County will face $1,000 in fines, 10 days in jail or both.
