It’s ‘Final-ly’ the first Friday of summer

If you’re looking for a way to kick off the first full weekend of the summer, Final-ly Friday in Mt. Airy starts at 5 p.m.

The evening will be full of live music, guest vendors, craft activities, and food and beer specials to take over Germantown Avenue.

Quarter ‘Til Four Trio will be playing in front of The Juice Room (7127 Germantown Ave.). The band will play amid the line-up of guest vendors flowing from Mt. Pleasant to Mt. Airy Avenues along Germantown Avenue. 

The Smak Parlour Fashion Truck will also be on-hand. The truck offers chic women’s clothing and accessories. Blacqskirt and Butta May will have new and upcycled accessories and clothing as well.

If unconventional frills are on the list, stop by Lynn Congo, for some polymer clay jewelry. In the same breathe, if you want to check out copper, silver, and gold gemstones or even jewelry made from coins, stop by Happimade and Penny Saver.

The family-friendly event created a crafty station just for the kids. The Community Arts Collective (CAC) is organizing free arts & crafts activities from 6 to 8 p.m. The main project of the night will be making special postcards, with postage to the destination paid by Mt. Airy USA.

Kids also have an opportunity to decorate masks, make tissue paper flowers and deck out recyclable shopping bags.

Businesses along Germantown Avenue will be running their own specials through most of the evening.

The Trolley Car Diner at 7601 Germantown Ave. will have Free Final-ly Friday Beer Tastings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. If you want to learn some “Table Top Science,” stop by Earth Bread + Brewery at 7136 Germantown Ave. Food scientist Dr. Fred will divulge secrets about your favorite brews and bites.

Geechee Girl Rice Café at 6825 Germantown Ave.  and Jyoti Indian Bistro at 7220 Germantown Ave. are cooking up some discounted signature dishes.

The Juice Room will be offering free smoothie samples along with featured Mompops organic popsicles. FitLife at 7140 Germantown Ave. will be also be giving out free guest passes to achieve that last minute beach body from 4 to 8 p.m.

Pbon’s Fresh Phood and Bonjour Creperie are the hosts of the weekly Dining Under The Stars from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mt. Airy USA will be setting up bistro tables and chairs at the Lovett Library Park for an al fresco dinner service. Following the dinner, Mt. Airy USA and the Free Library of Philadelphia will partner with Trolley Car Diner to run this week’s installment of the summer-long Moonlight Movies series. This week “Beetlejuice” will run, starting at 8:30 p.m.

Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets if you will be ending your night relaxing under the summer stars!
