It begins — Snowy scenes in Philly mark area’s latest weather system [photos]

    The city of Philadelphia is in the early stages of what is promising to be a sizeable weather event.

    The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the storm, which is expected to drop 8 to 12 inches of snow on Philadelphia.

    The city is dismissing employees early due to the approaching storm that has led to school closures, early dismissals.

    And as the white stuff begins to blanket the city, the afternoon commute will commence.
