In search of a grant: West Hanover, Lower Paxton search for funds to replace bridge

West Hanover and Lower Paxton townships are working to secure funds from the state that would go towards replacing the bridge on Jonestown Road.

According to The Patriot-News, the two townships are applying to the state for a local share municipal gaming grant to secure the funds needed.

The current structure sits along Beaver Creek at the West Hanover-Lower Paxton Border.  The Patriot-News reports the townships are requesting $80,000 or 5 percent of the total estimated cost.

The remaining costs would be paid for by the federal government at 15 percent of the total price, and the state, at 80 percent.
