From the opening ceremonies to Michael Phelps becoming the most decorated Olympian in the history of the games, the 2012 London Olympics have not disappointed viewers in drama or emotion.
While many of us have to watch the games from the comforts of our own homes, NewsWorks photographer Nat Hamilton headed across the Atlantic last week and has been able to capture Gabby Douglas’ gold medal-worthy all-round gymnastics performance, the Williams sisters reclaiming their reign in tennis doubles and Team USA in the equestrian competition at Greenwich Park.
“The games have been amazing, lots of friendly people from countries all over the world,” said Hamilton in an email sent from London. “Even with the diversity in the crowd there hasn’t been a single boo, but cheers for each other’s country.”
Take a look through the Olympic moments Hamilton has captured and check back later this week for more images as the summer games come to a close.
