Heavy rain swamps Philadephia cab

Sunday’s early morning rain proved a little too much for one Philadelphia cab driver and a passenger as thunderstorms caused pooling on area roads.

Local TV stations captured video of the cab stuck in floodwater on the Broad Street ramp to Route 95 in Philadelphia.

NBC 10 reports the vehicle was heading to the airport when it rolled through a large puddle of water at the on-ramp around 7:00 a.m.

The driver told the NBC affiliate he had no idea the ramp was flooded.

The driver and the passenger were safely rescued.  The ramp was closed breifly but was reopened, as of 8 a.m.
